Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but vulnerable characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of today. As a teenager, she spent her summers at her father's house, she developed an interest in theater. Following her studies at Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. She began her Broadway career shortly after graduating in the year 2000, before making her television debut the following year. Since then she's been in many TV productions, films as well as stage productions. She's been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her professional career. Although she has received numerous awards, she still loves acting and has performed on stage and screen.
