As I was a mom with one child with me, and other babies with me in the cradle was working 12 hour shifts sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! All was starting to form, but it wasn't quite finished. It was going to take a lot of money effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture to furnish this home. In order to stay within budget, I began taking my kids to estate sales in search of diamonds. Our weekly routine that included spending Friday through Saturday at estate and garage sales, purchasing new and old items. I then spent the remainder of the week sanding and painting the driveway. My first impression was like... this is when my desire to repair furniture started. When our home was fully furnished, I could not quit! On the streets I set up a little space and sold some objects. In the end, I had numerous pieces that I did not have a clue what to do with them and my storage space was a mess. In my own home, I began hosting open houses in which more than 1,000 people were able to come in to purchase anything they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days is the result of all this. While my company grew as did our family. It was essential to find the right balance to me. I wanted to be both a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days just seemed to be the right fit. Nora joined us in 2013 as our 4th baby. The direction my company was heading was fantastic, but I had to get some down time. I decided to take a break from making vintage furniture, and I slowed down my speed and stayed at home to help my children. The time was right. It wasn't until a couple of months that the phones started to ring. The people who called me were seeking help for their interior decorating and home remodeling. Many of the people calling me were from those who attended one of the furniture open house events. Then I slowly took on new clients according to my own pace. Soon I had multiple customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. When you first spoke to me about my home renovation business I was astonished. In fact, I laugh slightly when I recall the episode.
